I have moved the information that is below this because "undead" is not just about skeletons. A newly-dead body that still has skin, hair and clothing can also be "undead". I don't think that this information belongs on this page. I think this page needs a lot more scientific information added to it. It can also have a section that talks about skeletons as symbols. I think that "Undead" needs to be one of the See also topics at the bottom of this page.

There are stories where skeletons rise from the dead. Things that come back to life are called undead. In these stories, most skeletons are controlled by a person who brings them back to life. These people are called necromancers. Necromancers use magic to make the skeleton walk and move. Because skeletons are controlled, they cannot think.
