Details needed[change source]

Like, how workers' councils "soon lost power with the rise of Stalinism" (especially since they were perfectly functional untill the Soviet Union's demise, actively resisting the many changes of the last 30-40 years). Or why "the Union collapsed in 1991, partly due to the efforts at reform by its leader, Mikhail Gorbachev" when it actually was forcefully divided by local leaders of the republics (which directly contradicts to the paragraph above). There's no mention of rise of the capitalism in USSR since Khrushchev's time (that effectively changed from the whole idea of planned economy (that tended to populace needs) to just a more vulnerable version of any other world's economy) which played a key role in the dissolution process. It began with declaration of conception of "the country of victorious socialism" in 1954, promoting the end of class struggle, continued with capitalisation of kolkhozy by selling them machine tractor stations' contents and transofming the remaining assets into machinery service stations), followed with reformation of the whole economy in 1965 that rendered the whole planned economy idea (which was made to avert capitalistic interaction) useless by introducing said capitalistic interaction. The whole country followed in less than 30 years since it was bound first and foremost by economy.

All these details of USSR transformation, downfall, rise of organised crime and subdivision of the state by it are missing. They shouldn't. 92.100.133.169 (talk) 19:01, 1 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Simple English[change source]

Simple English really helps when you don't understand the articles!

Page move[change source]

I have moved the page "Soviet Union" to "Union of Soviet Socialist Republics". Please let me know (on this page, not my talk page) if there are any objections and/or comments. Thank you,

recent revert[change source]

Reason was too many changes of a kind which involved stylistic problems and/or needed discussion. Big changes to an established page need to be improvements or they need to be discussed. Also, stylistically. they need to fit in with the rest of the page. Macdonald-ross (talk) 20:00, 20 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Is it necessary to protect this page?[change source]

I believe this page needs to be protected, it is prone to people editing it for "memes", and it needs to be stopped, it disrupts Wikipedia. FrançaisauNord (talk) 20:48, 29 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Why not add a part called, "In pop culture?" then it would probably be fixed. Elytrian - Talk 07:53, 4 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
