Terminology[change source]
The phrase "public research university" is not in wide use in the UK (or Europe, as far as I know). It comes from the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, which was designed for US institutions. Innocent readers might wonder whether the place teaches at all! Anyway, I substituted a more natural description. Macdonald-ross (talk) 05:12, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
