"Xenu" image[change source]

The image of someone in an alien costume has no place on this page. Hubbard never describes the physical appearance of Xenu but his other "space opera" writings would indicate that Hubbard would have considered him to look human. --Justallofthem (talk) 15:48, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Strangely enough, it was there in the regular English Wikipedia article for a long time before other, not much less "placeless on this page", images came in. Since Xenu's lookalikes were not described, the only images that could ever be used will be drawings or people in costumes. See: En:File:South_Park_Xenu.jpg, Pl:Plik:Xenuobey4fa.png for an example of what's being used on other Wikipedias. --Apples grow on pines (talk) 17:07, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but Wikipedia was much more tolerant (or ignorant, take your pick) in the past of critics openly mocking Scientology. Let's please not repeat that bad history here. The other images are appropriate in a discussion of their underlying media, i.e. the Simpsons or Panorama show. They are not appropriate as an "illustration" of Xenu. If you want to write a neutral section in the article on one of the shows then the image from the show can go in that section. --Justallofthem (talk) 17:14, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
ps - Not the image from the Polish Wikipedia - that is inappropriate for essentially the same reasons. --Justallofthem (talk) 17:17, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for clarifying your point of view. I see what you mean, but I wouldn't personally consider this image an open mockery. Of course, if you get very stubborn about it you can consider it one, but then a picture showing any character related to a religious group could be considered mockery. And yeah, I absolutely agree about the Polish one. That was just intended as an example of what really should have no place on a Wiki --Apples grow on pines (talk) 17:23, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Cool. --Justallofthem (talk) 17:40, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Subheading[change source]

The page’s subheading is “fictitious character” in Sociology. While I don’t believe in Xenu, due to not being a Scientologists, as I understand it. Scientologists do. So for the sake of NPOV, I think it would be better to say “important figure in Scientology” or something to that effect instead 198.200.115.29 (talk) 02:52, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Done It now says "religious figure". Lights and freedom (talk) 23:37, 6 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
