Target Corporation is a company with a chain of discount department stores in the United States. George Dayton started the company in 1902. It is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Target has 1,956 stores[1] in the United States. They used to have stores in Canada but left the country in 2015. Target's main competitors are Amazon, Walmart, and formerly Kmart.
