Usage
Template:ISO 639 name af is part of a series that resolves the ISO 639-1, ISO 639-2 and ISO 639-3 codes to language names.
It is used by {{Translated page}} with language code af, for example: {{Translated page |af |name of page at Afrikaans Wikipedia}}. This template is used to generate a link to the Afrikaans Wikipedia and could be used to include pages in Category:Pages translated from Afrikaans Wikipedia (may be created using {{Translated sub-cat |af}}).
Former usage
The following templates now use Module:Lang, which stores the language code and name data in Module:Language/data/iana languages, Module:Language/data/ISO 639-3, and Module:Language/data/wp languages.
- {{Lang|af| some text in Afrikaans}} wraps the text with <span lang="af"> and includes articles in Category:Articles containing Afrikaans-language text. Also available is {{Lang-af |some text in Afrikaans}} which displays as Afrikaans: some text in Afrikaans.
- {{R from other language|af|("to" language code)}} includes pages in Category:Redirects from Afrikaans-language terms (may be created using {{Redirect from alternative language category}}).
- {{R from alternative language|("from" language code)|af}} includes pages in Category:Redirects to Afrikaans-language terms (may be created using {{Redirect to alternative language category}}).
