Template talk:Orphan

Page contents not supported in other languages.
From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The documentation says "If you leave it out a WP:BOT will fill it in." and also "This template will add tagged articles to Category:Orphaned articles if no parameter is given."

Neither of these seems to be happening. Is there an explanation?

A consequence of the first is that it defaults to August 2010, which is confusing; wouldn't it be better to show it as undated? - David Biddulph (talk) 13:18, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As it relates to the second query, the category used was changed (see diff 3061886). As such, I have updated it (see diff 3089730). As it relates to tagging pages with {{Orphan}}, I do not think there is an active bot doing orphan-tagging.  Hazard-SJ  ±  22:03, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Question about links in template[change source]

The "related articles" link in the template finds related articles in the English Wikipedia. Should it be changed to find related articles in the Simple Wikipedia?

The "suggestions may also be available" link launches the Find link tool, which helps to find links in the English Wikipedia. Should this be removed from the template here? Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 05:35, 25 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I think the answer to both questions is yes. It looks like this template was imported, but not made fully functional here.--Peterdownunder (talk) 05:43, 25 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Can't believe nobody has noticed that until now. I've done as suggested. Osiris (talk) 06:03, 25 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
