Santiago de Tequila is a Mexican town. The town is in the Mexican state of Jalisco. At the 2005 census, Tequila had 38,534 people. The town is known for being the birthplace of the beverage known as tequila. The popularity and history of the drink made the town of Tequila a World Heritage Site.
