The Great Mouse Detective is a 1986 American animated movie produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation. It was first released to movie theaters in the United States on July 2, 1986. It is the 26th animated movie in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series. The main characters are all mice and rats living in Victorian London.

The movie is based on the children's book series Basil of Baker Street by Eve Titus. It is also similar to the stories about Sherlock Holmes.
