Tissue can mean different things.

  • In medicine and biology tissue means a part of an organ or organism.
  • Tissue can mean a thin layer of a substance. For example, tissue paper is very thin paper.
  • Tissue is also a word for a thin, soft, piece of paper to wipe your nose that one throws away after use.
