Trauma is the name doctors have for an injury. Depending on what was injured there are different kinds of traumas.
- A severe physical trauma. This can result from someone losing a limb, or having other life-threatening injuries.
- A psychological trauma results if someone witnesses something that he or she is unable to cope with on his or her own. Such traumas can occur in cases of sexual abuse, for example.
- A trauma may result from a former membership in a cult or sect.
- A trauma can come from being hit by a blunt object, as in a car accident.
