Project Description[change | change source]

In this class, students will write or substantially add to an existing Simple English Wikipedia entry about an aspect of Japanese culture. Students working on this project are Japanese Studies majors in Japan whose first language is Japanese. The objective of the project is for students to improve their English writing skills through explaining a specific element of Japanese culture in English. Most students are working in groups of three, called WikiTeams. Each student is responsible for a section of the entry his or her WikiTeam has chosen to write.

The instructor for this course is Keroobean. The project and the course will conclude on July 17th, 2009.

Once Bitten, Twice Shy[change | change source]

We are all newcomers to editing Wikipedia, but have often used Wikipedia as a source of information. Please do not bite us! We humbly request your patience as we add entries and work on them. The entries we intend to write will be thought out and planned before they are written. We are considering what we want to write about, and are we are receiving feedback from our teacher. We (including our teacher) are doing our best to follow the community's rules. Before you edit something we have written, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE contact our teacher or us through our talk page.

Again, we appreciate your patience.
