Welcome

Hi. In case you add subst:welcome before welcome, it shall get expanded. Thanks. --Bhadani 15:53, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, that was my mistake. I have forgotten to do that recently and I will do from now on. Thanks for reminding me. Billz (Talk) 15:54, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I was not knowing earlier. Someone in English Wikipedia told me. Oh, please never mind! --Bhadani 15:57, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Quit harassing me

I got your message. Now leave me alone. What do you want, a shrine to yourself and your opinions on my page!?!--HSTutorials 22:00, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Serious messages must be left on Talk Pages. Please do not remove it or you may be blocked from editing. Thank you. Billz (Talk) 22:02, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Talk:NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER...

What was that about?-- Tdxiang 07:36, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
This page has since been deleted, so please can you explain to me what the matter is? Thanks. Billz (Talk) 11:31, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Right, I'm sorry. It was a mistake. :D I thought you created it for vandalism.-- Tdxiang 09:48, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have spoken to Archer7 about this and he explained what happenned and it did look like I had vandalised due to the way that the system works. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Billz (Talk) 13:14, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome messages

Do you know of any welcome message besides Template:welcome? Carmelapple 23:02, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I use the Template:anon for IP addresses. I believe that the Welcome template is perfect for welcoming members and providing them with the necessary information. Billz (Talk) 07:37, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, and a question

Hi Blitz, Though I'm using the Wikipedia for years as a reliable reference sourse, I always find it frustrating to do any editing other than some minor ones in which I can copy and paste the templates present in the text! Anyway, I've just started to do some more serious work that do not look so simple to me! One of them is this: I was giving the links to the Spanish-speaking Countries category when you left me a message (though it's still a mystery to me how you guys know who is online, ...) in the Wanted Categories page. I didn't know how to sort them in a proper Wiki way and seperatye it from the wanted categories. But guess again, someone has done it while I was writing the above message! It's so strange. Well, it is done, but I don't know how to do it myself. Shall I follow the tutorials on the English Wikipedia Encyclopedia, because the tutorial here doesn't sound promising. Thanks in advance, Nimak

Hi Nimak. As far as I know, I cannot see which users are online and it was purely coincidental that I left the message whilst you were online. Anyway, most of the tutorial on EN Wikipedia applies here, except that pages must be written in Simple English. If you would like any help, please just let me know and I would be happy to assist you. Thank you. Billz (Talk) 14:46, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again, Blitz. I will. Nimak 14 August 2006
I have just re-read your post and I will try to explain how Categories work. If you create a category called Category:Stationary, you should describe which tpyes pages should go into this category, so you could say: "Pages which are about items of stationary belong here". You then edit all of the pages (Such as pen, pencil, etc.) to add the tag [[Category:Stationary]] just above the interwiki links and the article will automatically be added to the category. I hope this helps you. Billz (Talk) 14:58, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

welcome

Thanks for welcoming me.--Cute 1 4 u 21:05, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am not testing

I am familiar with Wikipedia edits as I have edited the English version; I would not consider what I did testing. Someone quoted a verse in the simple English version of Deuterocanonical books. The Bible version used was the NIV I changed it to the DARBY because, unlike the NIV, it is not copyrighted. I am not exactly sure why you removed the verse, I only changed the version after it had alresdy been there for awhile.--Silverclodhopper 02:32, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My dear Billz

Nice job, vandalfighter!

I'm smiling. Smiling very broadly. I'm smiling because you are one of the very civic minded people who care enough to help out in reverting vandalism in our developing Encyclopedia. That takes up A LOT of effort, my friend. As such, it will be a crying shame for a nice guy like you to be unappreciated. i am therefore awarding you a barnstar. Good work! Your friend Ding Xiang...-- Tdxiang 09:47, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for the Barnstar. I spend more time here than I should do, but it's very nice to receive praise for what I do. Thanks. Billz (Talk) 14:16, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop repeating yourself on my talk page.

It's really boring.--HSTutorials 00:47, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I warned you before about creating very short stubs and its problems, however you ignored my warnings, so I took the action to warn you about it again. Creating short stubs does create problems and discourages other members from creating a quality article, because they believe that one already exists. Also please do not remove any serious warnings from your talk page (Except to archive them if your talk page becomes extremely large - Usually when there are 50 or more headings), as doing so repeatedly may result in you being blocked from editing Simple English Wikipedia. In no way was I trying to aggravate or annoy you: I am here simply to ensure that this Wikipedia runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible with minimal vandalism. Thank you. Hi, thanks for the welcome. I've been posting on the main en. wikipedia for some years now, under the same name. --Scott McNay 05:44, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Anti-vandalism channel

Hey Billz, I noticed you were an avid vandal fighter/editor here - thanks for the great work! You might already know, but we have a filtered recent changes IRC channel at irc://irc.freenode.net/#vandalism-simple, where a bot reports edits that could be vandalism. If you're at all interested, please step by! Cheers, Tangotango 11:50, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a little busy at the moment, but when I get a chance, I will have a look at that channel. Thanks. Billz (Talk) 11:52, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I am now on the #vandalism-simple IRC channel under the username Billz_. Thank you. Billz (Talk) 13:01, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Proper Format

Sorry, what is the proper format for aministratorship nomination? Thank you. Ionius Mundus 17:10, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

They should have a heading which is a link to your user page and a paragraph or two about why you should be an administrator. For previous examples, please check the archives of previous nominations, here. Thank you. Billz (Talk) 17:21, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thanks. --Ionius Mundus 17:34, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Good luck with your application. Billz (Talk) 17:35, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
How is this? --Ionius Mundus 18:34, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Nearly correct. I have formatted it properly for you. Billz (Talk) 19:02, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. How long can users vote for? --Ionius Mundus 19:04, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not too sure to be honest. Psy guy nominated himself on 28th June 2006, however he was moved into the archive on 9th August, just over a month later. Billz (Talk) 19:16, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sandbox

Hey, I thought I was using the Sandbox. Was there some mistake? Ivan the Nice Guy 22:25, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You added inappropriate material to the sandbox. Please use the sandbox to test, but not to vandalise. Thank you. Billz (Talk) 22:26, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
To clarify: You may test templates, signatures, links, etc. in the sandbox, but adding inappropriate words, like poop continuously is unacceptable. Billz (Talk) 22:28, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know; it works on the RuneScape Wiki... Maybe it's a bug...? Personally I have no idea about this except that I'm just going to have to make do with a hyperlink -_-'--Death motor 21:55, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sure that the link does need to be EN, rather than Wikipedia, because that is how interwiki's are done, but it still doesn't like it. A link it will be I think. Billz (Talk) 21:56, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, if it is fixed, feel free to correct it =P--Death motor 22:10, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have found why it didn't work. It needed to read [[w:en:user:death motor|Click here for more about me]]. I have edited the page and it is now fully working. Billz (Talk) 22:19, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks!--Death motor 22:24, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. I'm happy to help where I can. If you need any more help, please feel free to ask me. Billz (Talk) 22:26, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

72.232.31.226

Hey there, I've removed your warning from User talk:72.232.31.226 because the user has only vandalized once. Hope you don't mind. Cheers, Tangotango 15:58, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, this was my mistake. I was reverting the vandalism at the same time as you, but then you must have beaten me to it. I didn't realise this at the time, so I put the {{subst:stopvandal}} on his talk page. Thanks for correcting me. Billz (Talk) 16:01, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Template Babel

Should I put the template that I speak Chinese on my user page? The only thing I'm really good at in regard to Chinese is understanding it, but I can't write, speak, or read a single Chinese character. I'm also of Chinese ethnicity (sue me), but I've been in the U.S. my whole life, and English is my standard language (first and best FTW! =D). Since I suck at Chinese so much, I've just been wondering whether it's even worth it to put the template there at all.--Death motor 21:16, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's up to you to be honest. If you can read Chinese, I would put it on your page so Chinese users know where they can ask for help if they are unsure of anything. Billz (Talk) 21:21, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I can't read Chinese, I can only understand it when somebody says it out loud.--Death motor 04:22, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I would probably leave it off your user page then, since you are unable to read or write it. Thanks. Billz (Talk) 08:11, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
