Welcome to Simple English Wikipedia[change source]

Hi, Cloverboy19, welcome to Simple English Wikipedia! Thank you for your changes. If you need help, check out the Help section of Wikipedia, or leave a message on my talk page. Whenever leaving messages on talk pages, please remember to sign your name by typing four 'tildes' (like this: ~~~~); doing this makes your name and the date show up. Also, it helps if you write something in the box that says 'change summary' whenever you change an article. Below are some useful links to make your time here simpler. Happy changing! In principle, we always signify a distinction between the title of an artistic work, and a normal word. The original title of Rihanna's album was better. Macdonald-ross (talk) 09:08, 22 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

November 2015[change source]

Information icon Hello, I'm Rus793. I noticed that you made a change to an article, 25 (Adele album), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see Wikipedia:Citing sources, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. User:Rus793 (talk) 16:17, 26 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There were some additional problems with this edit. First, it was complex—it should have been broken down into at least two simple sentences. Using simple sentences and simpler words, are just some of the ways in which we are different from Enwiki. Secondly, the way it was worded it was a little ambiguous. For example, did she work with Ryan Tedder on this album or just in general? Not every sentence needs to be source cited but Wikipedia's Verifiability policy requires inline citations for any material challenged, or likely to be challenged in an article. Also, when adding information to an article, ask yourself is it important to help readers (which here include those new to the English language and children) to understand the subject? You can add the information back again but it would be very helpful if you would keep these things in mind when you do. What we all want is better articles for our readers. If you have any questions, just ask. Thanks for your all your good work. User:Rus793 (talk) 16:40, 26 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Nice you cited your sources in your most recent improvements. One small problem is that in using the Template:Cite web, it requires the 'title=' field be filled in. That's why you got the error messages in the Reference section. I keep a copy of a short version of the complete template in a Notepad file for easy copying and pasting into articles when I need them. It was an easy fix, if you want to go back and take a look. The version I use is:

<ref>{{cite web |url= |title= |author= |date= |website= |publisher= |accessdate=1 December 2015}}</ref>

if you want to keep a copy of this somewhere. Thanks for the improvements. User:Rus793 (talk) 18:02, 1 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

December 2015[change source]

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to the page Hello (Adele song) has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, please ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thank you. The song article did not show notability so was redirected to the artist's page. Often, songs by themselves are simply not notable enough for an article. Please see Wikipedia:Notability (music). To show notability the article needs to have several Wikipedia:reliable sources showing how it is notable. The problem with the cn templates is we do not have a great number of editors here who can come along and add source citations and/or expand stubs. The saying in flying circles is "let George do it" which is a reference to the autopilot system (called "George" by many pilots). In general it means let someone else do it—anyone else. The problem is, we don't have many spare Georges here. If something is to get done in an article, the surest way is to do it yourself. That's not to say help isn't available; it is. Many other editors will help you with questions or show you how to find what you need to expand articles. If you need help citing sources, finding reliable source citations, whatever... you can ask a specific editor or ask a question at Simple talk. But if looking for someone else to do something, it can be a long wait. Anyway, I wanted to explain why the stub was redirected. User:Rus793 (talk) 16:01, 11 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Cloverboy. Thanks for this new article. I wanted to mention a couple of things. First, when you create an article, please add the appropriate categories. This article had no categories. Second, when there are references in an article, it needs to have a references section with both a heading and a template such as {{reflist}}. This article had the heading, but not the template. Thanks, and let me know if you have any questions about this. --Auntof6 (talk) 07:39, 17 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

RfD nomination of Send My Love (To Your New Lover)[change source]

An editor has requested deletion of Send My Love (To Your New Lover), an article you created. We appreciate your changes, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Please comment on the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2016/Send My Love (To Your New Lover) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also change the article during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns. But you should not remove the requests for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you very much. Donald Trump[change source]

Hi, Cloverboy. I noticed that you changed the infobox on Mr. Trump's article to that of an office holder. I changed it back for two reasons. First, he is not yet an office holder: he is the President-elect, but that is not an office. Second, there is a chance that he will not take office, whether because of unexpected actions by the Electoral College or as a result of some of his legal issues. There's no rush to change this template; let's wait until he's actually sworn in. --Auntof6 (talk) 17:55, 10 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Understood. The English wiki uses a President-elect template. Thought I was helping. Sorry.

February 2017[change source]

Welcome to Wikipedia. A page you made, Starboy (album), may not meet our rules for new pages, so it will shortly be removed. Please use the sandbox for any tests. Hi, Cloverboy19. When you create an article, please do the following:

  • Include categories.
  • If the article has references, include both a references heading and either a {{reflist}} template or equivalent.

It's also helpful if the parameters for an infobox each start on a new line. I fixed these issues with Starships, but please take care of them in any other articles you create. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 06:00, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
