My Presence

Hi,

I have recently retired, but have been asked to reconsider my decision, as this Wiki needs improving. I really don't have much work to do here, in content contributions, as I like to be intricate, and the simplicity here is quite present. I am busy with such at EN. I would, however, be willing to keep the wiki clean (IE: Block vandals, delete QD's etc), but for that I need to be an Admin. I have 200 edits here, and 3,000+ at EN (which if I had here, would be sufficient to maybe pass an RFA). I'm not sure if It is worth running for adminship, what do you think? If this happened, along the way, I may do some content contribs. This is not a bribe, this just would give me something to do while I am here. Cheers. Tofutwitch11-Chat 22:15, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey. I think 300 changes is a little low for adminship, and two months editing doesn't seem enough time. I think that if you where going to run right now, people would be looking to see how many of the edits you have are to admin related areas and activities, such as QD's and reports to WP:VIP. I only see two QD requests and I don't think I see any VIP reports. Because of that, I don't think it would be a good idea to run right now. Of course I don't want to see you leave the wiki, but we really aren't short on admins, ( we have a lot of them :P) and I don't think you have the experience needed just yet. Of course your contribs at en are good, but we are not en and need to look at mostly simple wiki content. Just as a note, our pages can be just as intricate and detailed as the pages at en, the language just has to be made simple. We don't simplify the content, just the language in which that content is given. :) --Gordonrox24 | Talk 22:43, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Definitely understood -- I will think about it...thanks!Tofutwitch11-Chat 22:47, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

To self.

whack

QD A4 can't be used for quick deleted content, only RFD deleted content. See @. Whack.--Gordonrox24 | Talk 19:06, 26 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Happy New Year

A Barnstar

The Admin's Barnstar
For Gordonrox24, a look at his contributions will show you that he is doing many tasks, sorting out vandalism, helping new users, cleaning up stuff, adding images, fixing spelling, planning new articles, adding to a whole range of articles. He has been an excellent admin right through 2010. Thanks for your efforts, Peterdownunder (talk) 06:29, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Block change

Thank you for your info, I just blocked "in emergency" the IP Address. It's up to you, of course, take any further action if deemed necessary.

Username

I do wish to edit here and would like to request a username change. I used the username Colonel Sanders mainly because it is a sort of inside joke type of thing and the username I use on Illogicopedia and RationalWiki. Although it was not at all my intention, I see how the username could be seen as promotional. Do you have a suggestion for an appropriate username?--Teh Chicken Magnate, The Honorable Colonel Sanders (talk) 16:58, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Colonel Battaleaxe? Mr. Berty (seasons greetings!) talk/stalk 17:06, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That works!--Teh Chicken Magnate, The Honorable Colonel Sanders (talk) 17:07, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please place a request at WP:CHU. Thanks. The Rambling Man (talk) 17:09, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey man

Just curious, is there a list of articles needing to be written around here? I'm lost at what to write about. I hope my contributions Sun Records and Newt Gingrich were indeed helpful. That would be quite helpful if you could point to a topic list.--Colonel Battaleaxe (talk) 18:49, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

We do have Wikipedia:Requested pages if that's of any use to you? The Rambling Man (talk) 18:50, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If ya' interested, you can finish off some of the red links on the {{Massive Attack}} template. Copy 'n' paste fom en, then simplify; does the job. Mr. Berty (seasons greetings!) talk/stalk 18:54, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Of course, Berty. I would be glad to.--Colonel Battaleaxe (talk) 19:15, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There ya go! --Gordonrox24 | Talk 19:23, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

11/22/10

I haven't been around much lately, as I'm sure you surmised by now. :) Anyway, I thought this would be quicker than e-mail (or, that is, that you would see this first - also I'm lazy and let the session expire). Also - overall it isn't. ;) <3 Katerenka [talk] 01:04, 6 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Katerenka. Good to hear from you. Hope all is well :) --Gordonrox24 | Talk 20:55, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks.

Thank you so much for the link, that really helps... Since this is the Simple en Wikipedia, are all the parameters acceptable, such as some with more complex names such as "alma mater"? Should that be replaced somehow with "College attended"? Thanks in advance. Cheers. Mìthrandir (talk) 01:57, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe, but it would take some work with the template.--Gordonrox24 | Talk 02:30, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Help

How do I show text of a template without the template actually showing up on page? Thanks... and also, the reason you gave for denying rollback rights is completely legitimate, but I don't think you should make judgements based off of the english wikipedia, because noboby gives positive credit here from en.Wiki... this is not an arguement, just a quick comment... Cheers... :) Mìthrandir (talk) 17:59, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey. I'm not sure I completely understand what you want the template to do, and I'm not sure I understand what use the templates you just created have... Maybe you could explain it some more for me, so I can try to help.--Gordonrox24 | Talk 18:09, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, one of the reasons you gave for wanting rollback was having it over there... so it goes both ways. Either way, this is an entirely different site, and a new start... use that to your advantage. Kansan (talk) 18:13, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the help... :) I just wanted to use the templates for the status of the articles I am writing, a way for me to keep everything in order, as I plan on writing a lot of articles... I was going to create a page for all of the templates and such that I have created so that I can keep track of those as well, and I don't know how to write out, for example User:SPQR/Inprogress, without the result of the template showing up... I just want to display the words... do you understand what I am saying? Cheers. Mìthrandir (talk) 19:22, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
As the templates are for your use, I would suggest moving them into your userspace. You want to type the template onto your page, but for the template to not show up? If so, <!-- will hide text --> --Gordonrox24 | Talk 20:20, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Trevor Bayne

Do you mind if I work on the Trevor Bayne article in your user namespace? I am working on an article on the 2011 Daytona 500... I'm a Tony Stewart fan, by the way, I thought he had a chance of winning.... :) Mìthrandir 17:51, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah go for it. I plan on working on it this week as well. Thanks!--Gordonrox24 | Talk 17:59, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks... Can you help with a template I am making for individual NASCAR races? The other template is for a race as in the generic "Daytona 500". Mìthrandir 18:04, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yep I'll take a look at it when I get a chance.--Gordonrox24 | Talk 22:05, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Will you show me how to make a table on the article. I am writing the article on the 2011 Daytona 500 and I am wrtiting out the results. I need a wikitable to sort the results out. Cheers. Mìthrandir 19:55, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think that's  Done as well.--Gordonrox24 | Talk 00:49, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
