Welcome[change source]

Hello! I am assuming you have come over from the English Wikipedia, so you are probably familiar with the way this wiki works. I hope you like it here and decide to stay. Here are a few links to help you adjust:

There is much to do here. For example, there are a lot of articles that do not exist yet, which you can bring over from the English Wikipedia and simplify. Do have a look around and see what you would like to do. Thank you for joining us, and you know how to contact me if you need help. Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 08:49, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Surely. Edited since last year. Just reading this project more these days. OccultZone (talk) 10:37, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to helpfully change the encyclopedia, we would ask that you assume good faith while interacting with other editors. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about changing this encyclopedia. Thank you. 184.7.83.59 (talk) 18:42, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that 86. made non-constructive edits, but other song might be considered as hard rock. OccultZone (talk) 18:45, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, OccultZone. It looks like "Mehdi Tolouti" was derived from the English Wikipedia or another version of Wikipedia. If that is indeed the case, please make sure you add some form of attribution, either in your change summary or on the article's talk page. This must be done, even for derivative works, or the article will be deleted in time. More instructions on how to do this are at Wikipedia:Transwiki attribution. I placed the attribution for you on Talk:Mehdi Tolouti until you have a chance to read the above. You might want to go back and add attribution to any of your previous articles that came over from another wiki. It protects both you and Wikipedia from copyright infringement. Thanks Rus793 (talk) 13:39, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

User:Rus793, "Mehdi Tolouti is an Iranian boxer.[1] At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed in the Men's light welterweight, but was defeated in the second round." is wikipedia, but "Mehdi Tolouti is an Iranian boxer.[1] At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he reached to the semifinals of AIBA Asian Olympic Qualifying Event. Mehdi Tolouti had also defeated Jonathan Alonso Flete of Spain in this event", is different from that.
If first line had any issue I have changed it to "Mehdi Tolouti is boxer from Iran.[1] In 2012 Summer Olympics.." OccultZone (talk) 18:22, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If the article was not brought over from another wiki, then attribution isn't necessary. It's difficult for another editor to say when there is so little to the article—in fact this article and the one at enwiki are both stubs. You, as the original editor, would be the one to know whether this was a transwikied article. So if you say it wasn't, then it wasn't. The more you add to this article the clearer it is to other editors that this is an article you started from scratch. The first line was OK either way, although the one you have now seems to be simpler. Thanks for pointing this out. Rus793 (talk) 19:27, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You are welcome. OccultZone (talk) 19:59, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there, just a quick note that if you're patrolling new pages, such as Lucasfilm, please make sure that you check the correct name of an article and alter it accordingly. Additionally, just a note that here at SEWP we use 'Other websites' as opposed to 'External links', as the language is much simpler. Thanks for your changes. Bluegoblin7 Correct, in fact I had changed "external links" to "other websites" on some 50 pages once. It was just I was in hurry, Thanks for the reminder. OccultZone (talk) 07:40, 31 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Thank you for creating Category:Film production companies of the United States. However, we normally need at least three pages in a category before it is created. Because categories are a way to group together similar articles, there is no need to create a new category for just one or two articles. If you think there might be more pages to add to the new category, please add them now. Thank you. Auntof6 (talk) 01:11, 30 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know. OccultZone (talk) 07:40, 31 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
