Hello Peter, in the RfD above, it seems that you might have forgotten to delete the page Pro League Gujarat, which was included by TTP1123 in the RfD. Thanks. — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 22:25, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I did! I will fix it now. Peterdownunder (talk) 22:26, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

help with bulk username creation[change source]

Dear Peter, I am coming back to WP school projects after a 1 year sabbatical. In my absence, apparently our school's IP address has been flagged for "disruptive edits" and my students can no longer create their own accounts. Would you be able to help me create more than the 8 I'm allowed per day? If so, I can tell you the u/n pattern and password I'd like to use. I hope you're well and you're seeing signs of spring downunder! Swim123blue (talk) 23:31, 25 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Helping with a research project in Simplification[change source]

Hello Peter,

I'm reaching out to you because I am working on a research project on simplification and am looking to collaborate with domain experts.

A quick introduction: I am a researcher interested in text simplification and am working towards publishing a resource in text simplification based on Simple Wikipedia (quite a rich encyclopedia). We believe this resource, which we will make public, could be valuable to educate and increasing awareness of text simplification.

Some colleagues and I are looking to collaborate with domain experts in the creation of the resource. We've secured some budget for our research project, so there's the possibility to remunerate a few experts that would work with us.

I do not mean to spam you, so feel free to disregard/delete if you feel this is inappropriate (and I apologize). On the other hand, if you are interested, please feel free to reach out, either directly on Wikipedia or by email (phillab@berkeley.edu) and I would be happy to tell you more.

Thank you, and sorry again if you feel this is inappropriate,

Philippe Laban

Question[change source]

Can you delete all the articles i created? 40.138.162.44 (talk) 06:44, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ambassador Request[change source]

We are starting this year's EASELL project. Are you in a position to be an ambassador again to help with any administrative permissions or fixes? We will be translating articles into simple English, making small edits on random articles, and expanding stubs into longer articles. Thank you for all that you've done in the past to help us! RfD nomination of Category:Aviation disasters[change source]

An editor has requested deletion of Category:Aviation disasters, a page you created. We appreciate your changes, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Please comment on the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2023/Category:Aviation disasters and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also change the article during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns. But you should not remove the requests for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you very much. Rathfelder (talk) 14:24, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Can you beleive it?[change source]

I'm actually back for good! Nice to see a lot of the old crowd still here. fr33kman 01:23, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Peter. I'm asking about the semi-protection you applied to these pages in 2016. I am aware the sockmaster, but I don't think that they are active around these pages at this time. Do you think that the time is right to unprotect these? Thanks. — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 11:12, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I don't even remember 2016! Will lift the protection. Peterdownunder (talk) 11:15, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Mr Peter. On 18th August this year only at 1.31 UTC you have deleted a page created by someone. You may check your deleting log book and that page's revision history if You feel like forgetting you didn't or not. Can you please tell why you deleted that page ? Lets think your given reason for deleting was right then did you feel shame on providing that user a notice or a change in content advice before deleting? My dear enemy you should know the creating first before preforming your deleting skills. Don't worry above more enemies sorry deleters are in chat. I know them all. You can take thier help in strengthening your execuses to escape. But I want the reason and compensation of the lose by deleting 20 times larger contents created by you. You are only responsible if I delete your 20 sentences against my 1. I am giving you few minutes time to restore that page and compromise with me by taking 20 new sentences for me as consignments. Let me me know which one between two is good for you. Take my threat like a hanging order of supreme court justice. Okay. All the best Mr. Peenut. 2409:4081:8310:9F7:0:0:607:28B0 (talk) 15:38, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You blocked Mesereaulaw because they kept removing the deletion request on the Hennessy Carolina article, but now Brooklynqueen03 is doing the exact same thing. Is there any way it could be protected? Shoot for the Stars (talk) 02:36, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Active vandal[change source]

Hey, can you please just block that user? Their username is offensive and they're going on a mass vandalism spree, also they're an LTA. Kk.urban (talk) 04:19, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Quick deletions[change source]

Please may have some assistance and advice? I have been working on articles about food. I start with an article from English Wikipedia and I do my best to simplify the sentence structure and the vocabulary. Quite a few have been quickly deleted. I have used the wait option and I have asked for some to be restored, but neither has had any effect. I am quite happy to do more work on those articles but I would like some guidance in deciding how they can be further simplified. It appears to me that I am being expected to meet much higher standards than those which I see, for example, on Special:Uncategorized pages or Category:Complex pages where I also work. My requests for advice have not produced any response. How can I rescue those articles? What am I doing wrong? Rathfelder (talk) 09:50, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rathfelder, some of us are too quick to delete, even I have done it on many occasions. Simplifying is hard work, and it can take time. Sometimes I like to make lost of changes to get to the right standard. One way to avoid quick deletion is to create the article in a sandbox. You can spend time getting it right without it being quickly deleted. When you think it is done, you can always ask someone for comment, and then move it into the main space. If you need help with this please ask me. I use a range of tools to help simplify pages. Being really familiar with the basic wordlists is a good place to start. Checking out some of the VGA articles is also a good way to see our best work. I personally feel most of our pages are not simple enough, so trying to meet a high standard for your editing should be a rewarding challenge. I am always happy to assist with how to simplify, I would rather spend my energy doing that than just reverting vandalism. If you need an article rescued, then let me know and I can place it in a sandbox for you. Anything that has ben deleted can be restored. Hope this helps, Peterdownunder (talk) 10:07, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much. Could you rescue Condensed milk, Lingonberry jam and Encebollado? Rathfelder (talk) 16:12, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
