Hi and thank you for the welcoming message! Yes I've become quite active here lately, but unfortunately many of the articles I've created are orphans and so they require some work.. Also, if you don't mind then I'd like to hear your opinion about the comment I left here. Lastly, do you know by any chance how I could become a new-articles-checker/verifier? Hi, Shalom11111. What do you mean by "new articles checker/verifier"? Anyone can check new articles for vandalism and other issues. If you mean being a patroller, that usually happens in one of two ways. One way is that an admin gives the right when they see that an editor writes good articles. The other way is when an editor requests it at WP:Requests for permissions (an admin will still look at the editor's contributions to make sure that they make good edits). New articles based on English Wikipedia[change source]

Thanks for the new articles you've added recently! It's good to see someone adding articles. I could stand to do more of that myself!

When an article here is based on the article from another Wikipedia, it's important to do two things. One is to make the article simple. Usually, the articles from English Wikipedia are too complex for Simple English Wikipedia. Think of simple English as a different language. Articles from English Wikipedia need to be "translated" from regular English to simple English when they are copied here. You can read more about this at Help:Translate English into Simple English and Wikipedia:How to write Simple English pages.

The other thing to do is to give attribution. This is a legal requirement. That means adding a notice giving credit to the source of the article. You can do that by putting the {{enwp based}} template on the talk page of the article here. Please go back and add this to the articles you already created, and be sure to add it on future articles you create. You can read more about this at WP:Transwiki attribution. Hi and thanks again for writing to me, I'm indeed happy to be involved in the simple wikipedia and give back too. Regarding your first point, you're right and in the future I'll make sure that articles I create are literally translated and re-written in a very simple form. I was hoping that other wikipidians would continue where I left off and help me out a little bit with that process but it didn't seem to happen so far. Secondly, I'm totally aware of the attribution thing but it's still good you brought it up. This is why, if you look, I wrote in the summary of every page I created "based on the original english wiki article". Yes, please use the template. You do need to indicate the exact article and the version of the article. Using the template is the easiest way to do that. I know this isn't the "fun part" of working on Wikipedia, but it's needed. Thanks! --Auntof6 (talk) 21:59, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi PotsdamLamb, thanks for writing to me! It appears that your edit was a good-faith mistake - the section about Houdini's death was lacking and unsourced, and in my edit(s) I actually added a source... In addition, I was in the middle of editing the article and planned to add even another reference, and IMHO I believe it's best to wait a bit more than 3 minutes after a user's last edit before reverting (unless it's clear vandalism) just in case they're still improving the page.
