Valtteri Filppula (born March 20, 1984 in Vantaa, Finland) is a professional Finnish ice hockey player that is currently signed to the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL) as a left wing/center. Filppula has formerly played for in the SM-liiga with the Jokerit team. Filppula is the younger brother of Ilari Filppula who is currently playing for the Detroit Red Wings as well. Filppula won the Stanley Cup with the Detroit Red Wings in 2008 when they beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 4 games to 2.

Filppula won a bronze medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics with team Finland.
