View of Delft

View of Delft is an oil painting. It was painted by Johannes Vermeer between about 1660 and 1661. The painting shows Vermeer's hometown. It is one of his most popular pictures.[1] It is one of three paintings of Delft by Vermeer. The others are The Little Street and the lost painting House Standing in Delft.[2] In 2011, the painting was featured on gold and silver commemorative coins issued by the Royal Dutch Mint.[3]
