Voting is when a group of people make a decision by saying what they want. It can be for getting a leader, passing a law, and other things. When people are done voting, the votes are counted (often by machines) and the side that gets the most votes wins. Voting can be done in small groups (friends deciding what to do over weekend), societies (building committee deciding on where to paint building or not), nations (voting for president or - in some cases - voting for independence) and global (United Nations deciding how to limit nuclear weapon development by new countries). Usually the side that gets most votes will win but in some cases there could be 75% or higher required mark for vote to be won (especially in cases of voting for making changes in constitution of countries).
