War in Afghanistan (2001–present)
The War in Afghanistan refers to a war waged by the United States, Great Britain, Canada, The Netherlands, Australia and other countries against the Taliban and Al-Qaeda. It continues to present day. 1908 NATO soldiers killed in Afghanistan. 1,162 American soldiers, 313 British soldiers and 433 Other Coalition countries' soldiers have been killed in this war. More than +15,000 Coalition soldiers wounded in this war. 6,773 US soldiers, 3,954 UK soldiers, 1,500 Canadian soldiers and over 2,500 other Coalition soldiers wounded in this war. 5,500 Afghan army soldiers and 200 Northern Alliance militants killed in this war. 378 US civilian contractors killed while 7,224 wounded in this war. British troops are due to leave Afghanistan by the end of 2015, this is after 5 years of training the Afghanistan police to deal with threats from the Taliban.
