Western Kentucky University is a public university in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The university has about 20,712 students. It was founded in 1906. The current president of the university is Dr. Gary A. Ransdell.

Sports[change | edit source]

The athletics teams of the university for men are called the Hilltoppers and the athletics teams for the women are called the Lady Toppers. They have 17 varsity teams, almost all of which now compete in the Sun Belt Conference. WKU will leave for Conference USA, already home to the school's team in women's swimming and diving, in July 2014.
