Wikipedia:ISSN

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Wikipedia software does not recognize inline International Standard Serial Numbers (ISSNs).[1]

The software does not automatically create a search link to a specific periodical in the same way that it does for International Standard Book Numbers (ISBNs) for books.[2] A template is required to enable this feature.

When an ISSN is known, it may be helpful to use it in the same way as it is good practice to use ISBN references for book source.[3]
