Worcester is a city in the West Midlands region of England. In 2005, about 94,300 people lived there. Worcester is the county town of Worcestershire. It is about 30 miles (48 km) southwest of Birmingham and 29 miles (47 km) north of Gloucester. The River Severn runs through the middle of the city. The cathedral overlooks the river. Famous people from Worcester include Edward Elgar and Cher Lloyd.
