World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc., doing business as WWE, Inc., is a big company that produces professional wrestling shows. It is now the most popular company in the wrestling business. Vince J. McMahon started the company in 1952. His son, Vince K. McMahon is currently the chairman and CEO of the company and runs the company along with his daughter Stephanie and her husband Paul Levesque, better known as Triple H.
The company used to be known as the World Wrestling Federation or the WWF. They changed their name to World Wrestling Entertainment after a lawsuit filed by the World Wide Fund for Nature, formerly known as the World Wildlife Fund, which uses the "WWF" initials in the United States. In 2011, the company rebranded itself as WWE, although its legal name is still World Wrestling Entertainment.

Champions [change]
WWE has championships which, within the scripted storylines of professional wrestling, recognize a wrestler as being the best in WWE. Outside of the storylines, championships are awarded to wrestlers who, in the long term, can bring the most business to the company. This business can be measured by ticket sales to live shows, sales of items with that wrestler's picture or catchphrases, purchases of pay-per-view events, or television ratings. From April 2009 to August 2011, many of the championships were exclusive to one of WWE's two brands—Raw and SmackDown. Since August 29, 2011, all WWE events have been "Supershows" that feature wrestlers from both brands. The most important championships are the WWE Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship.
There are also championships for specific divisions. This includes the WWE Divas Championship which is fought for by the women on both brands. There is also a tag team championship.
