Popeye is a 1980 musical movie based on the comics by E. C. Segar. The movie starred Robin Williams (his movie debut) as Popeye, Paul Dooley as Wimpy, Paul L. Smith as Bluto, Ray Walston as Poopdeck Pappy and Shelley Duvall as Olive Oyl. It received mixed reviews. Popeye was released by Paramount Pictures in North America and Walt Disney Productions internationally.
