Talk:IP address

Okay, so I've basically copied/moved this from Internet Protocol and added some more information, but it isn't complete.

Missing Information[change source]

  • A link to Routing should be there somehow (maybe also create the page :/)
  • Talk about DHCP
  • More talk about NAT
  • More information on CIDR notation
  • A nice picture to illustrate a subnet
  • A picture showing network ID, host ID, and subnet mask
  • Way more details about IPv6

I would probably just copy from regular wikipedia and simplify it.

Also, please find sources!

IPv6 is an RFC by the IETF not the IEEE?! --2003:63:241C:B100:BEAE:C5FF:FEB5:2088 (talk) 22:48, 3 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

static or not?[change source]

So, does a laptop which gets moved around to different WiFi hotspots generally have one, unchanged IP address? 107.134.78.59 (talk) 16:12, 15 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
