The Taal Volcano in the Philippines erupted on January 12, 2020 with the alert level of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) escalating from Alert Level 2 to Alert Level 4.[1][2]

The main crater spread ashes to Calabarzon, Metro Manila, and some parts of Central Luzon.[3][4]
