The 2025 Brazilian Football Championship Series A, officially Brasileirão Betano – Série A 2025 for sponsorship reasons, [1] will be the 70th edition of the top division of Brazilian football. The competition has the same rules as previous years, when the points system was implemented. There will be a break for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup which will be held between June 13 and July 15 in the United States .
This edition will feature Mirassol 's debut in the elite of Brazilian football, being the fifth team to debut in the first division since the beginning of the points-based era, in 2003 . The last time there was a debut was 4 years ago, with Cuiabá, relegated last season to Série B. [2] Furthermore, with the relegation of Athletico Paranaense in the 2024 edition, it will be the first time since 1990 that Série A has no teams representing the State of Paraná . [3]
