On October 10, 2025, at 09:43:59 PST (01:43:59 UTC), an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4 on the moment magnitude scale (Mw ) struck eastern Mindanao in the Philippines. Its epicenter was located off the coast of Davao Oriental in the Davao Region. The earthquake struck only eleven days after the magnitude 6.9 earthquake in Cebu.[2]
