AccuWeather is an American media organization that provides non-profit worldwide weather forecasts. The name AccuWeather is a portmanteau for accurate and weather.

The network was founded in 1962 by Joel N. Myers, then a Penn State graduate student working on degrees in meteorology. The company adopted the name "AccuWeather" in 1971. It is centered in State College, Pennsylvania. AccuWeather is a strong provider for a lot of local television stations, and does guest commentaries on major television, networks.
