Afet İnan
Ayşe Afet İnan (October 30, 1908 – June 8, 1985) was a Turkish historian and sociologist. She was an adopted daughter of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
Afet İnan was born to İsmail Hakkı Uzmay and his wife Şehzane Hanım in 29 November 1908 in Salonica Vilayet, Ottoman Empire.[1] In 1935, Afet İnan went to Switzerland again and studied as a student at the University of Geneva between 1936 and 1938. In 1950, she became a professor at the University of Ankara.
She was one of the prominent historians of Turkish history. She was a leading member of the Turkish Historical Society.
She died in June 8, 1985 in Ankara, Turkey.
