Aledo is a municipality of 1,202 people (2019). It is found in the province and autonomous community of Murcia in Spain.

Aledo under the Romans[change | change source]

This area of southern Spain was occupied by the Romans in 209 BC, when they invaded via what is now Cartagena and built a city from which they were able to control the area, both on the coast and inland.
