Alexander von Brill

Alexander von Brill 20th September 1842 - 18th June1935) was a German mathematician. Today, he is mostly known for his work in algebraic geometry. Brill also was a tecacher, and an architect. He always believed that it was important that mathematical models are easy to understad. When he thought of mathematical models, he often constructed them as well. Max Planck was one of his students. Between 1875 and 1880, he taught at the TH Darmstadt, where Felix Klein was one of his colleagues.
