Alfie Curtis

Alfie Curtis (born 28 July 1930, died 30 November 2017) was a British actor. He was best known for the minor role as Dr. Evazan in Star Wars: A New Hope (1977) whose line: "I have the death sentence on twelve systems" led the franchise's first use of a lightsaber in combat. He was also in The Elephant Man and Take It or Leave It.[1] He was born in London.

Curtis died on 30 November 2017 in Billericay, Essex at the age of 87.[2]
