Alfred Josef Ferdinand Jodl (10 May 1890 ; in Würzburg, Bavaria, Germany– 16 October 1946 ; in Nuremberg,Bavaria,Germany) was a German military commander, was the Chief of the Operations Staff of the Armed Forces High Command (Oberkommando der Wehrmacht, or OKW) during World War II. At the Nuremberg trials he was tried, sentenced to death and hanged as a war criminal. Alfred Josef Ferdinand Jodi was born in 10th May 1890 in Würzburg, Bavaria in the German Empire he later joined Imperial German Army in 1910 at age 20 and was a soldier in Germany during World War 1 from 1914-1918 being led by Kaiser Wilhelm II who was Emperor/Kaiser of Germany from 1888 until 1918 when he was exiled to the Netherlands . In 1919 Alfred Jodi at age 29 joined the Reichswehr in the Weimar Era Germany or better known as Weimar Republic he was in the Reichswehr until 1933 . In 1933 at age 43 when Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party took over Germany and got turned into Nazi Germany or better known as the German Reich or Greater German Reich or the Third Reich . In September 1939 the Nazis Invaded Poland and started World War 2 Alfred Jodi was involved in the Invasion of Poland (1939) and in 1940 during Operation Weserubung to invaded Denmark and Norway as well as Battle of France . On 20th July 1944 Alfred Jodi was among of the generals injured in the 20th July Plot in 1944 by a Bomb placed by Claus von Stauffenberg who was executed on 21st July 1944 at age 36 . In May 1945 Nazi Germany surrendered after Battle of Berlin when Karl Dönitz surrendered Germany after the death of Hermann Fegelein who was executed by the SS before and after Adolf Hitler,Eva Braun,Joseph Goebbels and Martin Bormann committed suicidal he was put on trial in the Nuremberg Trials in Bavaria Germany in 1946 and was executed on 16th October 1946 as a Nazi War Criminal at age 56 .

He was executed along with Joachim von Ribbentrop,Arthur Seyß-Inquart,and Wilhelm Keitel,Ernst Kaltenbrunner,Wilhelm Frick,Hans Frank,Alfred Rosenberg,Julius Streicher,Fritz Sauckel, Robert Ley,except for Hermann Göring,Hans Fritzsche,Walther Funk,Rudolf Hess,Konstantin von Neurath,Dr.Hjalmar Schacht,Erich Raeder,Karl Dönitz,Franz von Papen,Gustav Krupp Von Bohoen und Halbach,Albert Speer who were not executed .
