Alia Bhatt (/ˈɑːliə ˈbʌt/; born 15 March 1993[1]) is a British actress who mainly works in Bollywood movies. She first acted as a child in Sangharsh (1999). Her first main role was in the romantic comedy-drama Student of the Year (2012), which got her a Filmfare nomination for Best Female Debut.[2] After that, Alia acted in many hit movies and was praised for her acting in Highway (2014), Udta Punjab (2016), and Raazi (2018).

In addition to acting in films, Bhatt supports many brands and products.[3][4][5] She also performs at stage and award shows. She has sung several songs in her movies as a playback singer. She is married to actor Ranbir Kapoor,[6] and they have a daughter together.[7][8]

A high-profile and popular celebrity in India, Bhatt is described as a sex symbol and ranks high on various listings of the most attractive Indian celebrities.[9][10] In 2014 and 2016, she was listed in "100 Sexiest Woman" by the Indian edition of FHM.[11][12] In 2015, she appeared on HuffPost's "100 Most Influential Women on Twitter" list.[13]

The Indian edition of People described her as "India's Most Beautiful Woman" in 2016. Bhatt was listed in first place in The Times of India's "50 Most Desirable Women" list of 2018, and she was named the "Sexiest Asian Woman" by the UK magazine Eastern Eye in 2019.[14][15] In 2020, Eastern Eye also featured her in their dynamic dozen for the decade list.[16]

In 2019 and 2023, Bhatt featured in Rediff's annual "Top Bollywood Actresses" listing.[17][18] She has been featured frequently on other Rediff lists, including "Bollywood's Most Beautiful Actresses", "Bollywood's Best Actresses Ever" and "Top 10 Bollywood Actresses of all Time".[19][20][21][22]
