Amancio Ortega Gaona (Spanish pronunciation: [aˈmanθjo orˈteɣa ɣaˈona]; born 28 March 1936) is a Spanish fashion businessman. He is the founding chairman of the Inditex fashion group.

His daughter, Marta Ortega, assumed the role of chairwoman of Inditex on April 1, 2022.[1]

He is best known for its chain of Zara clothing and accessories retail shops. He is the second richest person in the world just behind American billionaire Bill Gates, with a net worth of USD $78.6 billion.[2]
