Ameurfina Melencio-Herrera

Ameurfina Aguinaldo Melencio-Herrera (11 May 1922 – 12 October 2020) was a Filipino judge. She served as an Associate Justice of the Philippine Supreme Court from 1979 until her retirement in 1992. She was the second woman appointed to the Supreme Court,[1] filling the vacancy left by the retirement of the first female Supreme Court Justice, Cecilia Muñoz-Palma.

Melencio-Herrera died in Cabanatuan on 12 October 2020, aged 98.[2]
