André Gagnon

André Gagnon OC OQ (August 2, 1936 – December 3, 2020) was a Canadian composer, conductor, arranger, and actor. He was known for his works of classical and pop styles.[1] Many of his best known compositions were Neiges, Smash, Chevauchée, Surprise, Donna, and Mouvements in the disco and pop fields. He was born in Quebec.[2] Gagnon was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1978 and an Officer of the National Order of Quebec in 2018.

Gagnon died on December 3, 2020 in Montreal from problems caused by Lewy body dementia at the age of 84.[3]
