Andreas Schmidt

Andreas M. Schmidt (23 November 1963 – 28 September 2017) was a German actor and theatre director. He was born in Finnentrop, West Germany.[1] His first acting role was in the 1987 movie Peng! Du bist tot!. Schmidt was nominated three times at the Deutscher Filmpreis, winning once in 2009.[1]

Schmidt was known for his roles in Sommer vorm Balkon (2005), The Counterfeiters (2007), The Moon and Other Lovers (2008) and Henri 4 (2010).[2]

Schmidt died on 28 September 2017 in Berlin of cancer at the age of 53.[3]
