Anime-influenced animation

Anime-influenced animation is a type of non-Japanese animation that is inspired by or made to look like anime, a style of animation from Japan. As Japanese anime became popular around the world, Western animation studios began using some of the visual stylizations found in anime, like exaggerated facial expressions, "chibi" versions of characters, and white lines appearing on the screen when something scary or surprising happens, or when someone screams or panics. Some examples of Western animation inspired by anime include Avatar, Ninjago, RWBY, Teen Titans, W.I.T.C.H., and Winx Club.
