Anna and the King

Anna and the King is a 1999 movie, loosely based on Anna and the King of Siam. The movie was directed by Andy Tennant and stars Jodie Foster and Chow Yun-fat. It was mostly shot in Malaysia. It was an Academy Award nominee in 2000 for Best Art Direction and Best Costume Design. The movie tells the story of the romance between the King of Siam (now Thailand) and the widowed English schoolteacher, Anna Leonowens, during the 1860s. It is based on the true story of Anna Leonowens' experiences.[1]
