Anthropic
Anthropic PBC[1] is an American artificial intelligence (AI) company. Their headquarters is in San Francisco, California. It has created many large language models (LLMs) named Claude and has a focus on AI safety.[2] Anthropic was founded in 2021 by former members of OpenAI, including siblings Daniela Amodei and Dario Amodei, who are president and CEO.[3]
The company is privately held and as of May 2026[update] had a value of about $965 billion.[4]
