Anton Frondell (born 7 May 2007) is a Swedish professional ice hockey forward. He currently plays for the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Outside of the NHL, Frondell has played for Djurgårdens IF of the HockeyAllsvenskan and Swedish Hockey League (SHL).
Career
[change | change source]Before playing in the NHL, Frondell played parts of three seasons with the Djurgårdens IF of the HockeyAllsvenskan and Swedish Hockey League (SHL). He had a successful time with Djurgårdens. He helped the team get promoted from the HockeyAllsvenskan to the Swedish Hockey League (SHL).[1]
He was drafted 3rd overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2025 NHL entry draft.[2] On 15 July 2025, he signed a three-year entry-level contract to join the Blackhawks.[3] On 24 March 2026, Frondell made his NHL debut in a 4–3 win against the New York Islanders. During the game, he recorded his first NHL point, assisting on a Ilya Mikheyev goal.[4] On 31 March, Frondell scored his first NHL goal against Connor Hellebuyck in a 4–3 overtime loss against the Winnipeg Jets.[5]
