Anura Kumara Dissanayake[a] (born 24 November 1968), commonly known by his initials AKD, is a Sri Lankan politician who is the 10th and current President of Sri Lanka since 2024.[1][2] He was a Member of Parliament from 2000 to 2024. He has also been the party leader of Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna and National People's Power. He was the Minister of Agriculture, Land and Livestock from 2004 to 2005.

Dissanayake was a candidate for president in 2019. He was named the NPP candidate for the 2024 election, campaigning on an anti-corruption platform.[3]
