The arrondissement of Albertville is an arrondissement of France. It is part of the Savoie département, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Its capital, and a subprefecture of the department, is the city of Albertville.

When the Savoie department was created in 1860, the arrondissement of Albertville was part of that original department.[2]

Geography[change | change source]

The arrondissement of Albertville is bordered to the north by the Haute-Savoie department, to the east by Italy, to the south by the arrondissement of Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne and to the west by the arrondissement of Chambéry.

It is in the north of the department and is the largest arrondissement with an area of 2,466.1 km2 (952.2 sq mi),[3] and the second in population, with 111,839 inhabitants and a density of 45.4 inhabitants/km².[4]
