Aurelia was the mother of Gaius Iulius Caesar. She was probably born around 120 BC. She died in the year 54 BC. The Roman historian Tacitus wrote that she was a good mother. Because her father had the surname Cotta, she is sometimes called Aurelia Cotta. The family of the Aurelii Cottae had a lot of influence during that time.
