Balenciaga SAS (/bəˌlɛnsiˈɑːɡə/ bə-LEN-see-AH-gə; Spanish: [balenˈθjaɣa]) is a luxury fashion company founded in 1919 by the Spanish designer Cristóbal Balenciaga in San Sebastián, Spain. The headquarters is now in Paris, France. Balenciaga closed in 1972 and was reopened under new ownership in 1986. Since 2001, the brand has been owned by the luxury group Kering.
